Tips and Meditation - The Garden within Your Heart

There are varied reasons for meditation, protocols and levels achieved in the process of meditation. It is up to each individual to explore what works best for them.

We may be seeking to meditate for relaxation and renewal, balance, healing transformation and regeneration of body, mind and spirit, or to connect for greater understanding and guidance in our lives. The effects and experience of meditation will expand through practice. Our “Self” Awareness grows through the practice of meditation.

Mantras, Breath work, Sound, Color, Crystal therapy and Guided Imaging or Visualization are frequent tools used in meditation to help us connect with our inner self, higher self, guides, angels and teachers. In meditation, we are attempting to move beyond our noisy mental left brain. We are moving into our heart and connecting through our intuitive right brain energy into higher vibration.

My personal favorite method for meditation is through Sound, Breath and Light Visualization, always choosing to connect and work in the highest spiritual vibration possible. I also love the use of crystals and color for healing meditation. My favorite mantras are AUM or GOD (GOD and I are One) as to the high frequency vibrations of the words.

Tips for Beginning Meditation-The Garden of your Heart

  • Create a Space that is yours, where you will not be interrupted. Sit in a comfortable chair. Light a candle and put on meditative music. The music shifts our energy to right brain. The candle sets an intention of light.

  • Intention + Breath are key in meditation. Our Intention is Key as Energy Follows Thought. I like to begin with 3 long deep clearing breaths. Slowly inhale to fill the lungs and blow the energy out with your exhale using your abdominal muscles. Feel yourself letting go of all mental and emotional energies that cloud your field and keep you from feeling your energy. Let go of all responsibility and agenda in this moment. You can also imagine the energies moving into a basket or balloon and being lifted into the light.

  • Begin your meditation in a Prayerful state. Ask that the room be filled with light. Call forth your higher self or light to be present within your body. Ask for Jesus Christ or your Master teacher to be present and guide your meditation. Call forth your angels, guides and teachers. Visualize a beautiful column of light coming over you. Ask that this light infill, enfold, surround and protect your energy.

  • Simultaneously, begin to Breathe in the light gently for the count of 5 and out gently for the count of 5. I find it works best with eyes closed and the tongue resting on the roof of the mouth. It is important to continue to breathe throughout meditation. Eventually you will fall into a normal breath pattern.

  • Ask for your heart to open. Visualize a light coming from your heart. With each breath see it growing. Now, with intention, breathe the light in and with each exhale, see it moving into the body. Begin in the feet and see it slowly moving up the legs, into the abdomen, chest and down the arms. See it move into the head. Ask for balance and healing. Ask that each cell awaken to its highest potential. Do this exercise as many times or as slowly as you wish. Eventually you will feel the energy as it moves through your body.

  • Ask the light to move through your Mental, Emotional and Spiritual energy bodies. Feel the energy around your body expand.

  • Now, imagine that you are Standing in the Energy of your Heart. A Path Appears…Move down the path until you come to a garden. We all have a garden within our heart. It is representative of our inner desires and their subsequent creations. Step into the garden. Feel the rich soil beneath your feet. Plant a seed of desire (hope, love, balance, health, etc). Ask to see your meditation guide or angel. They hand you a watering can. Water the seed. See the the light above coming into the garden and nourishing the seeds of creation. Is there anything that needs pruning? You can sit on a bench by the garden, ask questions or just feel the energy of light. When you are ready, move back onto the path, back into your chair. Feel your energy. Feel yourself totally present. Imagine grounding pink energy roots moving into the earth.
